Strategic Intelligence Management Institute
The idea of a strategic Institute to inculcate and promote leadership skills in senior Intelligence Officers and end-users of Intelligence had long been in the pipeline but came to fruition in January 2025 under the leadership of Amb. Mohammed Mohammed, DGNIA.
Through the instrumentation of its Curriculum, the Strategic Intelligence Management Institute (SIMI) seeks to explore the symbiotic relationship amongst all sectors of the Nigerian polity with a view to building the necessary synergy for intelligence-based policy decision-making, implementation, and management. The ultimate goal is overarching national development embodied in Nigeria's National Security.
The overriding objective of SIMI is to develop a Corps of technocrats, who have sound appreciation of the role of Intelligence in National development, as well as its interpretation and application in policy making.
In the execution of its programmes, SIMl embraces a broad-based Faculty comprising Veterans of the Security and Intelligence Community, the larger Civil Service, the Academia, Professionals and Practitioners in varied fields of endeavour as well as Civil Society Organisations (CSO). It also has a platform of exchange with relevant Think-Tanks.
Participants who successfully complete the nine-month course of study would be awarded a Certificate of Course Completion, entitling them to the honorific "Fellow of Strategic Intelligence Management Institute (fsimi)
